For starters, Efren Reyes should definitely be in bold. There are a lot of very good players on that list that the majority of people here aren't going to know about. "Bristol" Bob Begey is a strong player capable of doing serious damage. Holden Chin can pull-off an upset against anybody. Karen Corr is only the 2nd best female player on the planet. Randy Labonte is an excellent shot-maker. Chris Lynch has an excellent all-around game and has done well in large Joss events. Paul Rota has a great track record and is known to play solidly from start to finish. Tony Roburto can hang with anyone (just don't leave any envelopes under the table). Luc Salvas is only a world beater and Ralph Souquet is a little better than him! Tim Perry and Jay Stevens could very well be guys you're cursing when they beat your horse.

(none of the above-mentioned players are in bold)

It's a very strong field. I'd say there are at least a dozen guys who anyone could pick and another dozen that you can't rule out.

Truth be told, almost the whole list could be in bold. It's a wonderful gathering of top notch players & I'm sickend by the fact that I won't be there. :( My only consolation is that I'll be going to my first US Open this yr and I plan on going to my first DCC. If I'm not mistaken, those are the only two events inside the USA that you're going to find the contingent of players that's on the above mentioned list. I hope everyone enjoys what I know is going to be a great tourney... I just hope you folks with laptops don't forget about us unfortunate folks at home. ;)

My picks ...

1) Django - Playing well lately, winning tournaments, seems to be on
a roll.
2) Kid Delicious - Been on the fringes a lot, he's due to win one.

But I will also be pulling for Danny Harriman, a gentleman and credit
to the sport, and with a lot of skill.

I have to add a trailing note that Efren is always there, just as
Allison is always there for the women's tournaments, hovering over
the field.... lol

Efren
Corey
Neils are probably my top 3.

Although, I would love to see Keith pull it off.

I'll second that but the McCready contingent might have tough time focusing on the pool table games with all the other table games that take place at the Turning Stone.

Who I think will win: Busta or Efren
Who I want to win: Kid D or Kim Davenport

Where's Thorsten Holmann at,by the way?

What is distinctive about the Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour is that the winner is always anybody's guess. Because the tournament is run on a LEVEL PLAYING FIELD, with no seeds and byes granted to a select group of players, the top prize is up for grabs. I also like the way the purse monies are cut up for first, second, third, et cetera, on the Joss Tour, and most importantly, there is no favoritism or preferential treatment. All players are treated equal, my kind of tournament! :)

With Diamond tables, overhead lamps, and EXCELLENT playing conditions, there will be some tough battles up ahead, and the players will be comfortable in giving it their all with such an exquisite environment.

This is a tough one to forecast as far as who will win, but every single player will be gunning for those monies AND the Joss Tour Season Finale championship title. It looks nice on the resume, [pronounced rez-su-may and not ree-zoom].

I don't know how to insert accent marks over the vowels. :p

Diana Hoppe will be on site, and this is good news to all who are unable to attend. Her candid photographs are the absolute BEST. Upbeat and positive-thinking, Diana is a delight, and she is the players' favorite photographer, bar none.

Who do I think will win? I'll get back with y'all after the first day at the players' meeting. I want to see the combatants on opening day strut their stuff before I make a prediction. As far as who I'd like to see win, I think that goes without saying! :D

I doubt he'll win, but he'll slow the whole damn tournament down trying.

True enough but I'm still looking forward to seeing him play.
I love watching Kid D too but sometimes I think paint dries quicker :D
