Who Made My Case? Any Ideas!

Hello,
your case is a Jim Knott... I spoke with him a few years back via email and he made an ID of my case, which in style is very close to yours... the cases were actually manufactured in CA by Stone Hedge Leather... I had them add a smaller zippered compartment where the tapper sleve is an yours... they did a fantastic job, I would recommend them if you need any repair work...

Yep, I have one identical to this that a buddy of mine is using. I have no idea what it's worth, but it is a great case that has been around me for around 10 years. A few of you inquired about Steve Price. I have exhausted every effort to try and contact him with absolutely no luck. My Price is my favorite case, I would be very greatful to anyone who could provide me a phone number.

I think I am the only A-Z member that owns a Jay Flowers, so here is a picture of it. Your case does look like one, mine was made in 1987 and he used twist locks for the Lid, your case has snaps, he may have used those on earlier models, I am not sure. You should have a Logo on the side of the case under the middle handle. Do you have any more pictures you can post?

Mike,

You have NOT been doing your proper Palmer Collector homework. We might have to demote you back to Meucci's since there is a Jay Flowers section on my Palmer Collector site (I have a number of them too):

I had an opportunity to talk with Jay about casemaking shortly before he passed away, which is where I got the biographical information. While I was told he was a wild character at one time, I found him to be quite a gentleman.

Chris
