Who made the first Titlist conversions?

Tate, the Titlist made for Presto by Rambow has the Willie Hoppe brand. I can't see a weight stamp but it does have a Brunswick label. Would Titlist blanks have the Hoppe stamp and not the weight stamp? I think the cue offers conclusive proof as to who converted the first Titlist blank. Also on the site there is a cue sans veneers that was converted by Rambow. Is there any way to date this cue, maybe before the 26 1/2 was produced?

Notice the sharp wrap-side points, the green veneer. These came from the 26 1/2 as Craig pointed out and this color combination was around since at least 1915 or so.

I can trace the 26 1/2 as far back as 1908 - it's shown in this very early catalog:

Even in this 1908 catalog, there were two piece cues offered. So the idea of cutting a cue down and installing a joint goes back to at least the turn-of-the-last-century!

Only now in modern days do we make a butt then a shaft. In the old days, they cut a one piece cue, put in a screw, and made it into two piece - yep, conversions!
