Who owns this Joss cue?

Here is an old Polaroid of mine:
Hope it comes out!

Ivory?

Beautiful cue! Ivory ferrueles?

I think that it is not but I don't know for sure. I bought this cue about 15 years ago from Jay Helfert when Southbay Billiards was still open. One shaft is pretty well used. I think there is 'grain' in the ferrueles but I would have to take it to someone to confirm. Ernie has seen it but I don't remember if he said the ferrueles are ivory or not. At the time I bought it I remember someone saying it was similar to a cue Cole Dickson had played with. Joss has just said it was made before they started the 'series' cues in the early 80s.

It would be nice to get some additional history of it and the case which is a Centennial with the leather tooling as shown. I think they are both about the same age because I had bought a similar new JW cue in the early 80s and it was with a Centennial case.

Does anyone on the board own this cue and is it for sale? This might be the nicest Joss I've seen...Anybody got one similar?

This cue was for sale on the Chalkers site a few years ago. It has long since been sold. I agree it is a very good looking (and playing) cue. The site still has a full description and history of the cue.

If you are dead set on finding this cue, you could contact their site and tell them if they contact the person who bought the cue and are able to put together a deal for you, that you will give them a commission.

The cue was originally on their website for $5500, later dropping to $4800.

Good luck. :idea2: :help::thud:

I bought the cue many years ago from the original owner and subsequently sold it to Sue Bachmen - Chalkers.

By far the nicest old Joss I've owned and it was in like new original condition.

Definitely one of those cues I wish I had back in my possession.

Dany Janes told me the cue was made in 1971. The inlays in the prongs are called 'snowmen'.
