Who says barbox 8-ball is harder than 9-foot?

Also, 14.1 is also easier on a bar box. That to me suggests that congestion issues notwithstanding, mean that 8 ball on a bar table is fractionally easier than on a 9 footer. Again, just my experience and observations.
I doubt 14.1 is easier on a bar table unless the bar table is a Valley with 5 inch pockets and even then there are probably too many clusters

This thread and a post in it started me thinking, always a dangerous thing! Why not reduce ball size and pocket size on a seven foot table so it is a true miniature nine or ten foot table? Among other things I think you could now play 14.1 on a seven footer.

I base this comment on me running 50+ on a bar box way, way more easily than me running 50+ on a 9 footer. Took me many many tries to run a similar number on my 9' diamond. I ran the 50 something on a bar table on like my third try or so. This was years ago, but that experience made me stop bothering with 14.1 on a bar box. Other's mileage will vary.

And Merry Christmas fellas.

This story is definitely an anomaly , butI had a league game against a 650 fargo player, 150 pts above my fargo, and beat him. It was strategy pool from the beginning and the game of 8 ball lasted about an hour.
Sounds painful. Pool like that is what drives people away. Bunt-duck-hide pool is like chinese water torture. I would have conceded 30minutes in.

that's called blackball or British 8ball. Little table, little balls. Good oldie:

Well it didn't seem that long to me while I was playing, cuz I have sort of a tunnel vision when I play. I don't focus on anything else except what I am doing, and the time must have slipped by without me realizing. My partners had to tell me how long the game lasted because I wasn't aware of it, but it's a game I'll never forget as I beat someone much better than myself.

Interesting experience- what type of bar table did you accomplish the 50+ run? How big were the pockets? I have a Valley with 4 inch pockets and find it challenging the few times I've tried straight pool on it. I usually try with 11 balls rather 15- I'm an average league player.

I did it on a 7 foot valley with ridgeback rails, but not tight pockets. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, broke and ran a four pack in 8 ball on a 7' diamond, but never did that on a 9' diamond.

That old valley was fun to play on. Would play 9 ball races to 30 many times. Racks went quick.

Hey, it's all pool, so it's all better than the office 😉

Yeah, you bored them to death. This is one thing i really like about the new UltimatePool series: every MATCH, not game, has a time limit, 50min iirc. None of this snoozefest pool is allowed.
