Anybody have any recommendations on who they would have build a couple shafts for a Scruggs sneaky as close to as what Bob would of originally built? Thx, Shooter08

Bob Frey, he built all of them for years along with alot of other Scruggs cues. Extremely underrated cue builder, who deserves way more attention than he has ever received because he never needed it, he was happy his best friend was happy and getting the accolades. Great guy, had him refinish a TS he built and build some new shafts years ago and he was as nice as they come. Bob is retired now, I hope he gets his "flowers" as the kids today, say. Shooter08

Anthony y Milanesi (AM Cues). He got all of Bob Freys shop and all off Scruggs ring billets.
Any idea how he plays into the Frey/Scruggs picture or did he just buy the stuff if it was advertised? Thanks, Shooter08

I believe Bob Frey's son is now building cues, but have not checked recently. If he is, he would be the one I would go to.

I'm not sure but I thought I heard he was no longer dealing with cues some time ago. Don't think it was his passion, if I heard correctly.

His shop is 1 hour away from Bob Freys house. Anthony use to work for Black Boar for about 5 years then went on his own making cues.
Do you know if he knows Bob or knew Tim well, or just got a lead on equipment from Tony’s relationship?

That is a very nice looking cue, very impressive. Do they play similar to any other builders that we may know?
hard to say really. his own taper is pretty firm but not overly stiff. he just made a purp. hrt. titleist conv. for a friend that hits great. i'd call him and just ask various cue questions. he knows his stuff. he knows Bob Owen(same town) and i think Bob may have helped him starting out.

I messaged him and he said he does not have any Scruggs shaft specs, but he said if I had an example shaft he could definitely help. Seemed like a very nice guy from our short contact.

Give Treadway a holler.
He is pretty booked, I got a quote on time frame via third party for a playing shaft w matching ring work for my J/B I have for sale and it was gonna be a while w no real guaranteed time frame. Would hate to delay someone getting their custom build done.
