my guess has always been stroud because he used to use a really odd pin that was kinda like a squared radial.
he also invented the wheel and the light bulbrhncue said:Stroud says he invented it, might have but I beleive he also said that he invented the 3/8X10 pin although Harvey Martin used it years before I am told.

Martin may have used 9 thread also, but I have a Martin and it is 10 threads per inch. But the thread is lag screw type of thread with flat minor id just like the South West. I thought David Kersenbrock was the first to use that type of screw but Harvey beat him to it by a decade or two or three. It was good to visit with you and your family while I was in Texas. I almost have the saw machine enclosed in oak and plexiglass and am ready to run it hard next week hopefully.blud said:Harvey Martin actually used a 3/8 X 9 thread, not the 3/8 X 10 as most think.
Stroud, man o man, hell fire guys he invented stainless steel and thwe wheel the same day. Just ask him.
I think my pin, [ .348 X 11.455 ] threads with the straight sides and flat bottom, rounded radius inside and outside corners, was one of the first square pins your referring to.
Really dosen't matter, who did what to my way of thinking, what works good is more important. And, mine works great for me.
