who won the va state 9ball tourney

I finished 7/8. Brandon Shuff 5/6.
When I left, the final 4 were:
Chris Loar, Chris Futrell, John Newton, Eric Moore.

I am also hoping someone fills in the rest soon:o

Did Larry Kressel play?

He did. 2nout, one was me and he told me I put him in a coma, causing him to lose his next match. Musta been all the balls I made him pocket. Got him all tuckered out:eek:

1. Chris Loar
2. Eric Moore
3. John Newton
4. Chris Futrell

One of the most exciting matches was Loar/Futrell. Loar was down 6-0 to start, but the match came down to hill-hill on Futrell's break with Loar winning. Loar ended up beating Moore 11-7 in the finals.

I have to say to JMD .....AWSOME TOURNAMENT,,, i wish i would have played...wasnt sure if i was gona be in town.. I actually got to meet JMD there...hell of nice guy..down to earth and really loves the game of pool. Got to meet TIMBERLY as well....hmmm how should i put it.. " GREAT LOOKING GAL" with the personality to match..great meeting you guys..liked meeting Timberly more..ha ha ha ..just joking..as for the matches...man it was awsome..they had a huge projection screen with all the brackets up ...cool software.. I watched the first match from a guy who at one time was a heavy hitter..but doesnt play much now but poker..but damn it didnt look that way in the first match...Jordon is his name and damn he crushed his first player...i actually picked him to win the Tournament...I will say that Chris Loar is a machine, i dont think he is human...The action after the tournament was over was crazy...you could get any game you wanted from a friendly ring game of 5 on 5 5 on the 9 with 4 guys to a race to nine 500 a set. The signature game of the first night after the tournament was Larry Kressel vs the house pro from a pool room in Va. Beach..i think it was Eric Moore but dont quote me..incredible match..Larry can hit the balls damn good, 1500 up ..bet was double or nothing..then..all even..but what a match to watch.. They were some great games shot during the tournament.. I would like to thank Parrot Cues (Todd) for his donations to the tournament..he is just a great guy.
Their was this eleven year old kid ..in the tournament...Luther is his name..who did really really well..he just jamed up some guys..i mean one guy was so pissed..i heard yelling to himself.." I can not believe i got beat by a fu$%ing 11 year old" Some one yelled back to him..no you just got beat by a better pool player..ha ha ha..heck by the end of the night...guys were betting on arm restling..im serrious..it was so damn funny hearing two guys up top just dogging each other..about who was stronger..me i watched matches and picked up a game here and there..but overall was well worth the trip to the playing field..i will play next year..and i will play in the city tournament...ohhh..the trophies were beautifull...I know the guy that made them post on here.."Great job" Thanks again JMD for all you did..i think you deserve a round of applause for you hard work..

Thanks! It's easy to make something that looks nice when you're working with air dried black walnut. Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you. I played Saturday, lost in the second round of the loser's bracket. It's weird, I thought I should have beaten the two guys I lost to and lost to the guy I beat. What a game!

We'll look forward to seeing you in the City Champs next spring!

Brian and quitecoolguy, it was an absolute pleasure to meet you guys. Brian, in your case... again. :p Having seen you (your pic on here doesn't do you justice) I keep thinking back to that day at the CCB tourney and I have a vague memory of you... LOL, I remember you talking about hurting and I remember thinking that I was hurting every bit as bad as you were! LOL, it was all I could do to drink the coffee that I had.... Good times, 'eh! :D

In case you guys missed my thread (late, I know... sorry). I have since updated my original list of payouts and added stories about certain matches during the tournament... players, highlights, upsets, after hours action... all of that can be found HERE

Good Time!

As I said in another post to you, it was nice to meet you and remember it!:D I was so crippled at the CCB last year. But I'll be better this year! Or better prepared! Or I'll just stay up all night, whichever way it works out!

Two of my favorite quotes, "Ain't nothing like a good time!" and "Too much is just enough!"

Best to ya!

P.S. Thanks for the compliment on the pic. I've had about 3 good pictures taken in my life and none since I was 14 months. :D

Actually, he went 3 & out. He won his first one... gotta luv the luck... he drew his backer 1st round. ;)

Yeah i would have backed down from my backer as well considering he backed him in a game later that night race to nine for 500 first to 1500 against the second place winner..ha ha ha ha
