Thanks for the positive words, gentlemen. I'd be glad to help and I don't need much in compensation, witness my roughly 15 years with Accu-stats.
I just left a nice upscale room in Greenwood, SC where the owner(s) had their first tournament. Without being overly critical or unkind let me say simply that they made every possible mistake. I was asked to help. So I did but they then overrode many of my adjustments and returned to futility.
It reminds of NYC, where, at the behest of the owners of Amsterdam Billiard Club, I went at my own expense to advise and suggest ways to have the best 14.1 event in the world. I presented them with a reasonable list of things to do, all of which literally reeked of common sense yet they followed not one of my suggestions. After the tournament, many extra smart people could be heard to say what a poor event it was, for most of the same reasons I had worked on.
Well, I digress. To the matter at hand. I have wonderful ideas for how to make a tour be the equal of football. But I just refuse to give this material to some Org., like the UPA, the BCA or the WPA. In this litigious age we live in, fellas, we'd have to protect ourselves. Then I'd be glad to seriously work with any quality person(s) who loves pool as much as I do. AND, there'd be MEGA bucks to be made and noone would care about that.
So please fully grasp what I am here-in stating. The pool aspects of everything we might come to terms to promote, I'll do. I don't want or need nor does our hallowed sport want or need direction on the pool areas from a lawyer or an architect or a businessman. By the same token I'll be delighted to keep my nose out of business matters.
This needs to be done absolutely as quickly as possible. We have a great sport for sale cheap but it's almost impossible to deal with these associations. Action of a positive and intelligent nature must be taken before they they (the orgs.) become any further entrenched into pocket billiards.
