You talkin abut the guy known only a "007"? IIRC that was the cat with "the book". No clue who it is. One name comes to mind and that's Johnny"Popcorn"Miller. He was more of a West Coast guy though.

Popcorn has been living in St. Joseph Missouri area for the last several years. I'll occasionally run into him at a tournament. Interesting character and nice guy.
