I have just bought a used carolina cue, the 2 shafts and butt are straight once apart but when joned there appears to be wobble, the wobble is in bothe shafts but more in one than the other, the wobble appears only when joined with the but at the same location, what do the pros think the cause might be and what are the possible options on fixing it?

The joint needs refaced. Easy job on a lathe, chances are a little dirt or such on face of joint.

Thanx , I think its a bent pin but why is it more in one shaft than the other and can it be fixed?

How does a pin get bent from use?

That's easy. They break or do draw shots and bend the heck out of the cue.
There are numerous pics of people breaking or doing a jacked up draw and follow through with the tip and 1st few inches of the cue on the table with the cue butt in the air and one heck of a bend in the entire cue.
Something has to bend, and often it is the pin.
That may be a bonus to a Ti pin or G10,the big amount of elastic limit.
On topic, Dick is right.
