I'm looking for a user friendly cad/ cam software that is not going to break the bank. Maybe, someone here will have some suggestions. Aslo, where or who would be the best to buy from?
Thanks in advance
Mark

Bobcad 17 is a good one to start with. Don't give them your phone number though, the salesmen called me way too many times trying to sell me upgrades.
They had a tutorial video that shows how to program a simple diamond, it was pretty helpful.

I use BobCad 21 & Mach3. You should also get Bob Nest if you plan on cutting out more than one inlay at a time. I paid $800 for V21, Bob Nest, Bob Art (which I haven't used) and the Tutorials (which I also haven't used) & 2 licenses with each.

Sheldon is right ... they will bug the heck out of you wanting you to upgrade or buy other software.

Bobcad ver 18 is a total waste of your money.
I dont think they even support it anymore.
They hired some real Microsoft software engineers when they did version 20 and almost all the bugs and failures of previous versions were corrected.
Ya think they gave a break to anyone ths had bought the buggy versions .... no! That was kinda like shaft wood ... no guarantees ... I had to buy two to get one good one.

I tried BobNest but I can do the inlay pieces layout better with just Bobcad 20.
The Cam software is part of the Bobcad package and works very well.
