Who's your favorite pro to watch that helps your game?

I like to watch Earl because he is the most talented pool player I’ve ever seen. When he is focused he makes the game look so easy, even now at a relatively advanced age.

I also like to watch Orcullo because I think he concentrates better than most and he has great fundamentals. Morra also has great fundamentals- very sound.

I like to watch Alex P. play one pocket. Not as flashy just solid play with ideas and shots that can actually be used.As a new player of one pocket I have watched the match with Alex P. and Scott F. more than once. I learned a lot from this

Pool players to watch

My answer is a little different. I watch a lot of pros and try to clue in on their strokes. My historical best play seems to be with more of an elbow pumping stroke. I know it’s crazy but it seems to help me. So while y’all watch pure players like Earl and Alex, I’m over here watching Mike Davis and Danny Smith. It’s different but works for me....

Only ONE player? WOW, tall order, there's so many. Seems each level has it's favorite.
__Earl the Pearl - Style, knowledge, flash & vocal entertainment. Tho he can get testy.
__Minnesota Fats - More for the style than quality of play. Story-wise, entertaining.
Get my drift? Different players, in different layers.
__TOP PLAYER for me would have to be me. LOL, NO-no, I'm not a pro. Efren Reyes has my very unique style. Efren has polished it to top levels. Me, I'm just enjoying the games for my entertainment.

I've been playing pool since 4 and almost always use different pool & billiard disciplines in a or any game, much like Efren, oR is it, Efren's like me? :grin-angelic:

I will be honest
I can tell nothing from watching pro players about stroke or anything else

and i seldom watch them or care to any more

Granted this may say more about me than I realize

When I was younger several top players took me to the pool room and tried to show me things

Jersey Red,Craig Stevens,Joe Salazar and several others, but I either needed more
serious time
or instruction to say I ever really learned anything even then

I had fun,and of course i have learned some one pocket moves

I keep hearing people say they do,but perhaps they
are more observant than i.Or just better students

or of course just blowing smoke to appear so

i dunno

All the top players I can learn from, but I wouldn't go emulating anyone's stroke. Never a good plan. And if I had to pick one to watch it might be Buddy Hall (present day I like A. Ouschan).
