I was watching a rerun of a WPBA event in San Diego, the final between Gerda and Allison. The announcers mentioned that for the tournament up to the finals Gerda B&R'd 59% of her racks and Allison was 69% for the tournament on her breaks.
If you can do that your not dead money in any field.
Having said that, I don't think Kelly,Kelly or Allison would dominate a tour playing among men, like they do on the ladies tour.
As far as the APA not allowing women, my guess would be that they view the WPBA as competition and allowing WPBA members to participate, and heaven forbid win, would not serve the interests of their own tour. Just a guess.
Interestingly, the PGA Tour has no gender reference in its charter, and I doubt it ever will. Admittedly, it is much more difficult for women to compete with men in golf. However, there is nothing that would stop a woman from competing if she earns her way on to the tour, same as the men.
As far as the civil rights act goes, if that should apply to the APA, then why would it not apply to the WPBA as well? Shouldn't they then open their door to men competing?
