This is a pretty basic question, so forgive me for that. I'm not referring to the pockets on my home table - RKC did those and they are perfect.
But a room I play in has GC-III's with extremely bouncy pockets. A well-hit ball down the rail will jaw at even moderate speed. The pocket angles are wide but I'm not sure they're any wider than a normal GC-III. These pockets are "shimmed" but they're not especially small - I think they measure about 4 3/4". Could it be that rubber used for the extra facing(s) is simply too bouncy or the wrong type of material?
I've played on many other GC-III's that were "shimmed" but none with such touchy pockets.
