How were those Olhausen tables?

Dave Nelson

They are at Family Billiards in Burlington and they are located on HWY 70 close to Mebane. Its a real nice place with great pool time rates.

As was told to me by a local Poker dealer (now living in Las Vegas)

"I live my life by the 3 Ps...two make it one take it"

I play Pool to win money so I can buy in at the Poker table so I can make enough money to pay for the P...."

I play because I love the game and love the competition, with or without money being involved. The game requires not only a good amount of the following attributes but also a balance of them: eye hand coordination, intelligence, patience, artistry, mental toughness, imagination, discipline, and the list probably goes on. Of all of the sports that I've taken up and tried to excel in, for me pool and golf are definitely two of the toughest to master. Golf, however, has a larger physical component involved, leaving pool to be much more of a mental exercise once the basics are learned and somewhat mastered.

Having played for 15 years or so, taking a 4 - 5 year layoff, and now playing again and getting very close to how I used to play, with the potential always looming that I could get even slightly better than I was, I can't play enough, I want to play every day, hours per day, just like I used to when I was first learning. Of course I get about 2 days a week for 4 - 5 hours, but I will take what I can get. :D

Play for the enjoyment

I started to play to spend more time with my Dad. After sports, I use it to feed my competative nature. I have met some good friends and still have a common bond with my dad. I hope that my daughter will learn to love the game. I would love to spend the next 40 years sharing the game with her.

I think with a bit of real self psychoanalysis as far as the seed that got it going...I think that my father didn't pay enough attention to me as a child. He fancied himself a great pool shooter.

No... I love the game and Im facinated with fact that the better I get at pool and the more I learn, the more I realize how little I really know about it.

Every pool player I know that says they play mainly for the cash is broke.

I was just rereading what I missed.

No truer words were ever spoken. And just when I was going to justify going out of town to play tonight. Well, we can still dream can't we???

The first time I ever hit a ball was about 50 years ago and although there are many aspects to the game, "The Pleasures of Small Motions" pretty much sums it up. For me, it's an addiction. I walked away once for 25 years and I could never do that again. My passionate love for the game has nothing to do with gambling...Tom

I just thought of another reason...

I really like this one.

Because I can.

Why do I Play Pool? Because I can....LOL See ya at the table.
