I think the ideal combo is... corey picks the pattern and racks.
Shane breaks at the speed corey dictates.
Either one runs the balls.
Corey's rack was more perfect (failed the wingball less) and his break super consistent.
But he hit it in a way that ruined his 3 ball. Shane spread them a little better but hit too hard.
I think there's a happy medium that gets the 3 ball to move away from its neighbor
and still allow you to hit soft enough to play the 1 in the side.
We can ban pattern racking when someone finally, truly abuses it to the point where it's clearly unfair.
So far we haven't seen that. We've seen dennis try but end up playing every rack a little differently...
no two racks were identical.
Corey may have had 2 identical racks but the 3 ball problem prevented it from happening more
than a couple of times.
When we see 5 in a row with every ball going to the same pocket... fine, ban pattern racking.
I don't understand why someone like corey doesn't film himself doing a 10-pack.
No full ten pack has been caught on video. Just several 9 packs and part of earl's famous 11 rack run.
Corey should be able to soft break and pattern rack a 10-pack and be the first to video it.
This is the video- he apparently ran 8
