$5/hr before 7pm
$13/hr after 7pm

Regardless of the number of people on a table

Appreciate what you have to pay.

Hey I am moving to TX next month...where is that at

Anyone know why  Most of the pool rooms up here are charging $7-10 per hour. Hell, that's more than minimum wage...LOL. How can I get my practice on at that rate  Back home in VA/NC where I'm from, its roughly $3-4 per hour. Well, some places are a little cheaper and/or have all you can shoot deals for certain times of the day but its very few though. Sorry ya'll, I just needed somewhere to vent :p

Man are you kidding? Out in California there are poolhalls that charge $12 an hour per person! Some places for 2 or 3 players it's like $20 per hour.

I don't think it's that the north is expensive -- I just think that your VA/NC area is ridiculously cheap.

Out here in LA the rates range from $5 - $17 per hour, depending on the number of people and time of day/week. Usually it's around the $10 mark, but at Hollywood it's usually in the $15 range.

I went out to Koreatown for action a few months ago, and some of the poolhalls were close to the $20 range for 2 players. I have to mention that a few of the most expensive Korean poolhalls were really nice and well-maintained. In one of the poolhalls I went with a friend just to sweat some big action and some cute girl who was a waitress gave me free drinks the whole night.

Almost seem like these pool halls are price gouging us based off these prices. LOL...prices are now ranging cross country from free to $20 per hour...

Over in the West Michigan area, the prices range from about 2$ a hour per person, to 8$ flat rate.

In my city Holland,Mi we have three pool halls

Q-stick which i shoot at most often, has rates of 3$ per person for a hour mon-thurs, and then fri-sun its 8$ per hour flat rate.

Golden 8 its 2$ per person for a hour all the time.

Guppies its 3$ per person for a hour.

In Grand Rapids its about 8$ per hour anywhere u go.

Now there are always places that have free pool nites which is fun.

I used to work in High Pockets, Memphis,TN about 5 years ago and they had good deal on wendsday 6 bucks all day. Normally about 3.50 an hour per player. Here in NC is pretty cheap. $1.50 in lots of places untill 6pm and $4 after. Some pool houses charge $2.00 an hour for 8 hours a day sunday through thursday. About 3 years ago I have bought my own table and I have saved about $10.000 if I'd play everyday for 3 years for 3 hours a day! Go figure ;)

cuetech i am from up north as well. I live in MA on the MA/NH line. Table time is usually always around 10 beans/hr. There are many vfw/pav/legion places that have tables for free. That is where i get most of my playing in. If you do not work days though there is a place in sommerville,MA called Goodtimes. They have over 60 gold crown tables. They have a deal where it is free to play pool from 10am-6pm monday through friday. I never get to take advantage of that deal since I work days. Just though I would let you know though.
If you ever want to try taking a ride up to Manchester NH, I'll be happy to introduce you to their network of 'private' clubs.

They have the hourly rate of: :) free :)

Well, you do have to join after a couple of visits, but that's only about $20 a year! Would you believe 9' well-maintained tables, reasonable drink prices (but no pressure to drink if you don;t want to)? If you are a smoker, you'll like that too, because NH is live free or die.

What's the catch??

The only one is that you will have to learn a new game, because their main game is a local variation on 'golf', played on the 9' tables...

Anyone is welcome to PM me if you are interested in visiting.

I think it is as simple as the cost of renting the space in the northeast. Why that is with so many empty office spaces I don't know. Also the cost of living is higher here so the owner has to see more profit to pay a mortgage, etc. I think you'll find that any high cost of living area (ie California) has the similar or higher rates.

Merrimack Billiards (in you guessed it Merrimack, NH) is pretty reasonable, but you got to put up with the smoking. Maybe not a problem for you, but for me ... well I live weekdays in Merrimack, but still prefer to drive down to Maximillians in MA for the smoke-free atmosphere at a little more expense. For the same reason I don't do the private clubs if I can help it.

I play mostly at Boston Bill. in Worcester.

Summer Rates: $5 Sun - Thurs (1 or 2 people), $8 Fri - Sat
Winter Rates: $8 Sun - Thurs, $11 Fri - Sat

This seemed high to me when I moved here as I was playing alone mostly. But with a sparring partner it can be quite cheap actually.

Money's no issue to a cuetec hustler like yourself though, right?

Rates

NorthWest Ohio, The pool room i work at it's

$5.00 All you can play everyday 1pm-7pm

Other than that:
Single player $5.00 an hr.

2-4 $9.00 an hr. any more after that add $3.00 a person

But we also have "PREFERED PLAYER CARDS" where there time is discounted to $3.50 hr. and they get 15% of in the proshop.

Ha Ha..only if I'm winning :D

I play at Good Times Sumerville, and it's ok (free pool before 6), and I'm in some of the leagues Wednesday and Tuesday. I also play in Peabody at Country Cue $5 all day till 6 then $6 till close (I think). And at COunrty Club they have $4 and early bird speacal.

Pete

Went out shooting tonight. I am use to pool rooms being packed and having waiting lists. At $7-14 per hr, I probably don't have to worry about that while I am up here... :D

We pay about $4/hr for one person on the table and a max of $10/hr for 4. Standard bet is $20 sets, winner pays time and buys beers. The house always wins, as it should be.

In the old days the house wasn't the only winner often players won too. It does seem that in recent times the pool halls are winning much more... by creeping up the hourly rates to about $7-$9,where iam from. A 6 or 9 hour session at $25 a set with two evenly matched players well..............

The pool Hall I work at is more of a mom pop place

from 1pm to 5pm $6.00 1person per hr. or 6.50 2 people per hr. 1.25 extra per person 2hr special for $8.00. All prices are pretty fairly priced considering its in a well located part of queens off of the Horace harding expressway.

$8.oo after 5pm 1.75. per person

Get to know the owner. Be respectful run some weekly tournies help them out.

Shoot for free. That is what i did. But pool is only 3.50 for juniors 18 and under and seniors 55 and older.

6.50 an hour all the other time.

Beer 3 bucks (canadian).

Nothing better than Racks. (not to be confused with Raxx)
