Why no Olympic Billiards?

One issue was the lack of players on the board on either the BCA or WPA*. This may have changed since I have not checked lately. The BCA and WPA will never pull of getting cue sports into the Olympics and they probably wasted money trying.

The BCA was to be a players association for the players, but it was taken over by business owners and stolen from the players to be used as nothing more than a glorified trade association. If you ask me, the lack of any true unified players association is keeping cue sports back big time.

The bad image of pool isn't universal I don't think. Does pool have a similar image in Europe or Asia?

Even if it does, it doesn't explain Snooker or Billiards.
 
I would love to see pool as an olympic sport, but am sure it would likely never happen. First and foremost, without a money purse, you'd never get the top players in the world to attend. I mean c'mon, you think Earl or Corey would fly half way around the world on his own dollar to play in a tournament with no cash offering. Which means that even if the Asians and Europeans (most likely to attend) ended up being crowned "Olympic Champions" the title would be very hollow without the presence of most of the big names.
