Why sell if your life is too busy to ship within a reasonable amount of time?

When ever I sell a cue (or anything), and get paid for that item, I make it my very 1st priority to get the item shipped out ASAP (and for me, that is always within 24 hours of receiving payment, unless the next day is a Sunday).

I guess that shipping within a reasonable amount of time (after receiving payment) is based on opinion, but I think that more then 3 business days (after getting paid for the item, and not getting it shipped out to the buyer) is starting to get past a reasonable amount of time.

I purchased a shaft from an AZ member here on the 16th (payment for the shaft was sent on the 16th), and he told me that he needed to install a tip on the shaft, and that he would be installing the tip on the next day, and ship the shaft along with this other cue that I purchased from him.

Well, he shipped the cue 2 days later (on a Saturday), but he told me that he did not have time to install the tip on the shaft yet, and that he would surely have the shaft shipped by Monday or Tuesday.

So, I write him back on Tuesday (I think, to ask him if he had installed the tip and shipped the shaft), and he emailed back and told me that he has been too busy, and that he was sure that he would be able to install the tip and get it shipped on Friday.

Well, Friday has passed (and I sent him an email plus a PM) over the last few days, and he has not replied back to me yet.

I received the other cue (by the way, and it was nice and as advertised), but I am just getting really upset about this shaft that I think should have gotten shipped by now, and as far as I know, it has not been shipped yet (or he would have sent me a PM).

I am just upset, because I edited my WTB add (looking to by a shaft), saying that I found a shaft, but I am still without a shaft that I was really wanting to buy.

I can't even rely on a very well respected AZ member (with a very high itrader rating) to ship me an item within a reasonable amount of time.

I tried my best to be patient, but I am starting to get really angry now, because it seems that he is now ignoring my messages.

It is only a small amount of money that I paid for the shaft, but the amount of money (that was paid for the shaft) should not be reason enough to not get the shaft ready and shipped out as promised (and within a reasonable amount of time).

My point is just that people should not sell an item if it is not ready to ship out, and they should not sell if their life is too busy to get to the post office to ship the item out (within a reasonable amount of time after getting paid for the item).

If this is all correct, I think you have a right to be upset. If you tell someone it's gonna be Tuesday & it isn't Tuesday (life happens) then the next deadline absolutely ought to be hit.

Installing a tip takes no more than 10 min on a lathe so unless he's
dong it by hand there is no excuse.

I offered a refund 2 days after initial payment because I had difficulty in getting to the shop to install the tip. He declined. A week later, he still declined, then started this thread in the same few minutes we were emailing this morning. I sent a refund after seeing this thread, I didn't realize it was on here this morning or my tenor would have been different.

I'm glad you like the cue.

Also, I sent him a very decent player, it's not like I was holding him hostage unable to play.

All of this bad talk about a guy that has already paid for merchandise that he was told was already supposed to be in his possession and it's not. Now he isn't getting any responses from the seller and is a little nervous about getting his stuff.

Some guys on here piss away what he's spent on this stuff, but the reality of this is that some people are just scraping to get by and depend on what money they have to survive. He just wants his stuff.

Hey Allen, thanks. I mean that . I'm sorry, really . I am gonna a bandandt the " rub " lol. So see yah around bro!!!!!

LOL. So the OP wasn't close to accurate at all. I've learned a lesson, NEVER EVER EVER NEVER EVER do business with the OP. Ridiculous.

I am really sorry for creating this thread, but if you would have read my post, then you would have seen that I left the name of the seller anonymous (I did not mention your name, and I had no plan to do so). I also did not think that mentioning the items that I purchased or the prices of the items should be mentioned. This was not a thread created to call out the seller, or go into any really private details about the items in question, or the prices. Yes, you offered me a refund a few different times, but if I would have accepted your offer, then would you have been willing to sell me the shaft when it was ready and you had time to ship it out? I think not, so I preferred to wait, and after being told that it would ship on Tuesday, and then on Friday, I just started to wonder if it would ever be shipped out. By the way, the last time I heard from you (before I created this thread) was on the 23rd (when you told me that it would for sure get mailed out on Friday). I am really sorry. I was just angry because I thought the shaft would surely be shipped on Friday or Saturday at the latest, and then after not hearing from you after Friday, I really started to give up hope. I know, I was being stupid, because I should have known that you would eventually get the shaft ready and shipped out. I was just really wanting a shaft for my cue asap. Again, I did not make any mention of your name, or the details about what was purchased, or the prices, so I really do not understand why you felt the need to refund me and post all of the details on here. Again, I am sorry.

Because much like the 'beware of this cuemaker' threads...... there are bound to be 'beware of this buyer' threads.

And btw, IMHO, you have more than earned that distinction on this forum. You do nothing but whine and complain, then talk about how hurt your feelings are. I dont say this to be mean, Im telling you what is wrong with you. Fix it, or dont, I dont give two shits. But dont keep coming on here with the same ol song and dance when at best, you are 50% of the problem each time.

If you always do, what you always did..... youll always get, what you always got...... ;)

My story was completely accurate, and by the way, the sellers name or the details about items or the prices were not mentioned (until the seller felt the need to come on here and explain about our entire private deal). My story was completely honest though. This thread was not about the seller (seller was completely anonymous, because I did not mention the sellers name, or the items that I purchased). I was just trying to make a point that when you say you are going to ship by a certain day, then the item should be shipped by a certain day. These threads would not get started if sellers would ship items as advertised (I am referring to my other deal with the converted Helmstetter), and if sellers would ship items within a reasonable timeframe (and ship when they say that they are going to be shipped). 1st it was to be shipped on Friday or Saturday, then it was to be shipped by Tuesday, and then it was to surely be shipped on Friday (3 days later), and Sunday comes around before I hear back from the seller. I just started to get really angry about it. That is all. I never intended to go into details (like the sellers name, the item purchased, or the price). Was just wanting to talk about what I stated in my title (that is all).

You have the right to your opinion about me (as do all others on here), but the fact is that none of these threads would get created if sellers shipped the items to me in "as advertised" condition (meaning that if a cue was advertised to roll straight, then it should roll perfectly straight when I receive it), and if sellers would ship the item out within a reasonable amount of time after receiving my payment (and not keep giving me the runaround over and over again). Again, all of you guys have made me feel really bad.

I have learned that this forum is not for professional sellers (that sell online for a living), and I understand that it took me a long time to realize it. People here live very busy lives (full time jobs, family, responsibilities), so I should not have gotten so upset over a 1 week delay on a shipment. I just really wanted a different shaft for my cue, and asap. I hate waiting, and waiting for USPS to deliver is bad enough (at times). My point is that sellers should not sell items that are not ready to ship out.

?

Yeah, I know. I hate my sleeping hours, and wish I could get them straight (for good). I really need a day job. Louisville is a great city (the east end, and Bardstown Rd, I love the most), but for some reason, I have just been really depressed (for close to 2 years, since moving here). I know you said there is a great pool scene here, but it just seems really dead to me (other then APA league, and other similar leagues that I do not care to join). The Bank Shot just seems to be filled with a bunch of old hustlers, sitting around, waiting for action to come in. When will I ever see any of the action though? Never hung around in there long enough to see any, I guess, but it is usually always pretty dead in there when I stop by. Very nice place though, and nice people. Nice owners.

I just wanted to say that he (the guy who offered to sell me the shaft) did not post the shaft for sale on here. I think he told me that he found it, maybe with some of his other cues he has in his collection, and that is when he offered to sell it to me, and ship it along with the other cue I purchased, and he offered to install an Ultraskin tip on the cue for me. I assumed that maybe it had a tip on it, but maybe the tip was just getting very low. I did not know until after he shipped the other cue (which was last Saturday) that the shaft did not have a tip on it. He did offer me a refund last Saturday, and then offered me a refund again on Tuesday (I think), but I declined both times, because I really wanted the shaft.

Anyways, I swear that I would have not mentioned his name on this thread. Just wanted to talk about this subject (on reasonable shipping times, after the seller receives payment)

Since ur up go get a job this morning and leave these computers alone for
just 60 days try it. I promise u you'll have way more money and be able to move to the
east end plus buy a high end cue.

So get off ur ass an turn the computer off no excuses and get out side.
I'm done cause I got to get to work and you should give it a try.
