anyone else notice most cuemakers these days are around Illinois? why aren't there many cuemakers by PA like the past? Szamboti was, DZ is, Motty is, etc.. is temperature a factor for most? I'd like to know.

check out how many are in Fla. Quite a few. Dayton, Searing, Omen. Sigel (if he is still making cues)...just to name a couple. i don't really keep up with where everybody lives anymore..............................mike

you also have dale perry and chris nitti in florida...what about maryland...black boar, capone, phillipi, scruggs, joss....5 in such a small state. there are a few in california..names escape me at present....mike

sigel's no cuemaker......sigel making cues is like donna summer selling her "artwork".

chicago has a long history. national chalk is where meucci, peterson, and helmstetter made friends. where spain got inspired by peterson.

Dude....that's a cheap shot!.....I have one of his customs that I'd put up against any other cue makers work. I'm not talking about the cheapy production cues. He put his time in to learn the craft, and acquire the equipment to build beautiful cues.

Wow.. Illinois is west coast?

Would California be Euorpe then?

I was also wondering about this... I live in Illinois, and it definitely seems like I generally have a long, long drive to the beach, in any direction.

jaun, Duke must be thinking west coast of Lake Michigan. Don't they have the 1,800 foot redwood trees there?:p

i don't think it's cheap. i tried one,,,didn't like it. personnal opinion. and most of all....he starts selling his cues at ridiculous prices based on his name as a player,,,,NOT a cuemaker....that's the donna summer reference.

so no,,,i don't think he earned his spurs. with today's technology, "cuemakers" are coming out of the woodwork.

Fair enough.....I picked up 2 in 2000. 1 I still have, the other I sold a couple years ago. I figured having one in the collection down the road couldn't hurt. I don't play with it....actually it's my wifes cue :D.....
