thats pretty much it..why would yu use a really hard tip like a super pro...And if you know what top players like them....

Like Johnnyt said, more feel and feedback... I also feel like I can get more spin on the CB with less effort.
I'm ordering hard tips for the two shafts coming with my Starkey. OB Classic Pro will be perfect with a hard tip, and the other will be Starkey's ferrule-less shaft with a hard tip. I have a BHQ J/B with a pressed black water buffalo, and I actually like the way it feels as a player's cue.

I like to feel EVERY vibration resulting from the cue tip striking the cue ball. With the Super Pro, or Morri Quick, or Talisman Hard or X hard I get those results. I can't understand why anybody would use a softer tip. Why would you want to muffle the results of your shot?

I kept going harder and harder until I arrived where I am... BK2's CoR is above 90% leather is usually in the 70s....

As long as I keep it chalked it doesn't miscue any more than a standard tip....
I used something called a future tip years ago and it was a plastic tip that was ahead of it's time. I got all Sherm had left a cpl of years ago but the hard version of them did miscue more than leather so you had to keep scuffing its surface up.

Once you get the "deliberate-ness" into your CB contact, you will not have any trouble putting spin on the CB (almost without regards to how hard the tip is.*)
Thus once you have a deliberate stroke, you can USE a harder tip and reek the advantages of A) lasting a long time, B) needs little maintenance, C) consistent from day to day, at the cost of D) having to be more dilligent wiht the chalk.
(*) it is surprising to many how much english one can impart on the CB with tips as hard as phenolic (as in Jump Break tips now not legal in many venues). So once your CB impact is smooth and deliberate, you can 'get away' with hard tips and avoid changing them, basically as hard as you like.
