Why Use Nelsonite????????

Penrose Cues said:
Nelsonite is a chemical wich is based on a epoxy and it penetrates the surface of the wood and seals it off... But only at the surface. It does not season the wood. That can only be achieved by air drying it for several years.

So, if you dry and turn the wood properly, no need to use Nelsonite...

Your cues stay straight without... why try to fix that if it ain't broken?

I don't think there is anything like epoxy in it. The manufacture told me in a phone call it is mostly linseed oil. when I asked. That was what I suspected and what it smells like. I don't think it's anything magic, just a formula of some common things wood workers have been using for years. The price alone, around $12.00 a gallon, tells you it's not something exotic. When you talk with him he makes no pretense about the stuff.
