Maybe if people would just play by the rules here they would get more benefits by staying than leaving also.

Chris,
The best said thing here by a long shot. I just can't believe the way people think. Someone earlier also posted the rule; (paraphrase) any post can be removed by AZ at any time. I mean really. The rule isn't up for discussion and its not like it is going to get changed.

I won't post a link, since that is not allowed, but it's easy enough to find. Lots of pool discussions and no mention of Mr. Wilson.

This isn't entirely true.. there are numerous references to Wilson over there.

Don't begrudge them an attempt to find a place where they can talk pool.

Well IMHO if they talked pool here, there probably wouldn't have been to many issues.

If you venture over there, you'll find no thread topics concerning AZ banishments or the monitor at AZ. It's of little interest.
There is one thread over there about AZ and it's in relation to this very thread here. I myself posted in that thread to prove a point that I can't post here. The last time I proved that point, even though it breaks no rules and I did not call anyone any names, nor was I uncivil... I got a strike.

Other than that, it's not all about AZ and the issues people have with AZ & it's moderator. The post about AZ is 1% of the threads/posts. I don't see why any of this matters anyway. AZ has been talked about badly on RSB & socal and no one seemed to care. Now all of the sudden, one thread on another forum is made about it and all of the sudden people care.

What you'll find is a great bunch of folks enjoying the freedom to discuss their pool interests and not spending all their time editing posts and looking over their shoulder. A place where you can speak your mind.

There's no rules over there?

I've been checking out the other forum for the last few months and I honestly haven't seen anything there that couldn't be posted over here so I don't know what lack of freedom is being referred to.

Edit- This is wrong. There is much more freedom apparently in "Jimbo's" section if you like to see name calling and read a lot of swearing which I have to admit is kinda funny in some ways but is that really the direction to go? I kind of wonder how long his new forum host will let this stuff continue? To each his or her own I guess.

End of Edit.

I don't have any serious personal or professional connection with anyone here and I prefer it that way because it gives me a certain degree of freedom.

I don't know Jimbo at all except for what I've seen here. I honestly never really noticed anything that made him more significant than any other posters here, but maybe I missed some things, I don't know. I did catch the thread that he got banned on and I'm at a total loss to understand why he took the path that he did.

I guess the cold reality of forum posting is you're only as significant as your last post!

I'm even further baffled by the response from other members as if Jimbo had no responsibilty or control in what happened. From the sidelines, one would think from all the drama that Jimbo was the Nelson friggin' Mandella of the forum world or something.

I saw the thread in question before it was deleted and to me it came across as antagonistic. Whether it was deliberately antagonistic or not really isn't relevant. I don't think it was the fact that Jimbo's new home was so much mentioned, as perhaps the context of starting a new thread about it was. Not exactly a high crime even if it was deliberately antagonistic, but it seemed out of place enough to get the moderators attention. Again, not a high crime.

I also strongly agree with the previous posters who say that a PM should have been sent as a matter of courtesy to more thoroughly explain the deletion and perhaps allow a private exchange to help avoid any feeling of insult.

Live and learn I guess.

Edit - I was trying to give Matt24 the benefit of the doubt, but after seeing a post by him on "Jimbo's" forum, I realize he didn't deserve it. I've posted the contents a few posts down.

Could be, but I haven't seen any, and a search on "wilson" didn't turn up anything. So it obviously isn't as big a deal as NYC guy makes it out to be. In any case, it doesn't matter - they are there, you are here, everyone's happy.

Regarding your second point, you left out responding to the sentences directly above what you quoted, which gave a little insight into why they aren't here, and it had nothing to do with not talking pool. But I'll repeat - no knobheads, fewer problems. If the other forum gets popular, the trolls and drama-queens will show up and Jimbo will start having the same problems that Dave has over here.

Scott - just a clarification to help you with your observations.

Here is the thing.

I was simply offering another billiard-related forum to our members.

I've been a member of AZ for years now. I have a lot of friends on here and have no plans/interest in leaving. I love the AZ website/forum. BUT, for those of us that are friends with JIMBO - I was simply offering up the information that he has his own forum on the Insidepool...that is it. It is already getting a little busy (which is nothing compared to the activity over here, but still a lot of fun and will probably get better). I'm sure there is room for both forums on this vast world wide web, and since (from what I've seen) the only section over there worth visiting is JIMBO's....visiting that will not detract from AZ one iota.

I have never gotten involved with flame wars on here, and I generally get along with everyone. BUT, you do reserve the right to delete whatever you want, I just thought it looked slightly petty to delete it so quickly and wanted to know why. Am I not entitled to ask? I've never questioned Mr. Wilson's judgement calls at all until this time, and it was done so respectfully. I didn't appreciate Mr. Wilson jumping to conclusions and calling it childish and destructive, but we're all human. Perhaps now he will see where I am coming from.

DELETED...hahahah...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well Jimbo. The thread I started advertising this forum was deleted completely in about 2.5 seconds. I started a second thread complaining...we will see how long that lasts.

Not trying to start a forum war huh?

Just the kind of double talk that would put a smile on Kevin Trudeau's face.

ANY banning and the others complaining is not about drama queens, knobheads, etc.. and it shouldn't be that big a deal. A quick look at the rules and nothing else needs to be said. Now as I have said many times, it's AZ's court and AZ's ball, obviously some people instead of whining have found a new court. Good for them, good for AZ, good for everybody. Win - win situation, there aren't enough of them in the world.

Anyone who got banned, violated the rules in some manner. Had they been talking pool, within the guidelines of the rules, no one would be banned.
