WI is dropping out of the BCAPL?

OK, I was asking how much more it would've cost because I was trying to figure out which side I should be on in this scenario. I was joking on the "sword" fighting comment but Banks made some serious BS comment. So, until someone else who actually knows something about what's going on, I'm out. I'm gonna go play with my new Jacoby Edge shaft that I bought at the state tournament. Find something bad about that?

Bravo! :clapping:

To be fair here you have backpedaled and this does not at all seem to be what you were initially saying. You first insinuated that the BCAPL and/or Diamond was price gouging or being unreasonable ("you'd think you guys could have hammered out a compromise") and then made a threat that once again insinuated exactly the same thing and exactly which side you were on ("If you want to keep us, we should be playing on Diamonds").

Your newer approach of "I really don't know anything about what really happened, all I know is I didn't have the tables I wanted, so can you please give me some details so I can figure out whose fault that was if there is even any fault to be found" definitely seems to be a much better and more accurate approach.

I insinuated that because CSI/BCAPL makes good business decisions, and this seems like it could have been avoided. yeah, it's emotional, it should be. Like I said its our state tourny, it's a big deal, and we have a great time when we're there. How's your state tourny set up?

What makes it seem like it could have been avoided to you? When I hear that somebody chose not to use Diamond tables for their state tournament I automatically think one of three things: the promoters couldn't afford the cost, they didn't feel it was worth the cost even if they could afford it, or the players in that area didn't really care what tables were used (or maybe even preferred another brand like Valley), none of which are really anybody's fault or anybody doing anything wrong. Maybe there is something that you are aware of in this case that makes it a unique situation.

I'm pretty lucky with the Texas State BCAPL tournament I guess. Good league (BCAPL) with the state tournament put on by competent people (Bad Boys Billiards Productions) and using good tables (Diamond). There isn't much major to complain about really. My biggest complaint is probably that you can play for literally 12 hours straight without having time to eat (unless you eat during your match which I've never been able to do, especially not serious matches), particularly if you get on the loser's side too early, just one shotgunned match after another back to back with zero time in between, and I do mean zero. I really wish they could find a way to allow a short dinner break for teams in that position. I know, I know, don't get on the loser's side...lol.

But if for some reason they didn't use Diamond tables I wouldn't think anybody did anything wrong necessarily. Just that the group putting on the event couldn't afford to pay for them or didn't feel it was worth the cost. Certainly their right, and the players can vote with their attendance if they feel it is that big of a deal. But blaming Diamond or BCAPL wouldn't even be in the cards for me. If anybody was to blame it would be the promoters, but like I said I really just don't see how they even did anything wrong if they couldn't afford it or didn't want to afford it. Just because we want something doesn't mean we are automatically entitled to get it. There are always costs to getting what we want. IMO of course.

I dont mind playing on Valley tables if they are well maintained. The problems occur when cheap cloth and cushions are are used. Use good materials and they play great.

They had initially advertised the tourney as having diamonds and they had also used them at an earlier tournament, I don't remember what it was called but it was in WI. So, my logic is what happened since then?

Sounds like you guys got it good down there. I hear you about having no breaks. It was all I could do, just to get to the bathroom between matches. It was a lot of walking for sure, I was wiped after four days. Thank god I'm back to work and can get some rest ;)
