How did Geno do in that tourney? Also, it is very good to see this post revisited. Any of you WI players going to WAMO on St Patty's weekend. If So look me up for I will be there. Always lookong for a game. Take care and shoot straight.
What is WAMO? I'm not in Wisconsin now, but I will be next year at this time (I think).

Just curious....does anybody in Wisc. play any one pocket at all, other than the champions - L. Nevel and J. Carter ? Thanks, Ghost

Not that I knew of, but if you wind up in the wrong place and forget to ask before you start, you will end up playing "LAST POCKET"!!

Jimmy Fitzpatrick, if he played twice a week...

I think Duncan Kaufman has 6-7 various state titles, but honestly WAMO is one of the worst run organizations I have ever seen. My overall feeling is that the talent pool for WI is pretty weak.

Couple of kids to look out for: Chad Lund and Dan Schnieder.

Where are some action hotspots in WI. And I don't mean just world beaters. You can find a game in Eau Claire almost any night of the week at the Happy Hollow. People that post on this board and know me know that. Nothing huge but hundred or two hundred dollar sets. There are probably 6-10 players alone that would play. Any other places throughout the state. And I agree WAMO is not run very well, but there is usually good action, and the partying is fun.

I had been going to the Magnet for a little while after the pool room (BoDudley's) closed down in December, but I won't go there anymore. The place is horrible. It's not even a pool hall, it's a bar with a few shitting tables. lol. BoDudley's is the place that I learned to play and was a great room full of Diamond Smart Tables, but sadly do to a lot of issues it had to close. It's still sitting there in tact if anyone is interested in buying it.

I'm really good friends with John actually. He's playing when he can. He's got another kid on the way and is very excited about it. His game is at a level where even if he doesn't play for a couple months he's still very hard to beat. He'll be going to WAMO next weekend to win it for the 3rd or 4th straight year. lol.

As for Ernie, he quit playing for a while after getting kicked out of most places in the city but he's getting back into it now. He'll stake anyone that needs a stake...if it's the right game and worth it for him of course.
OMG! BoDudley's closed! That's so sad! What is Fred up to since it closed?

I spent the first 30 years of my life in WI around the LaCrosse area. Did most of my playing at the old LeCue Club and then Top Shots. Reading this thread has brought back many fond pool memories. I would like to mention some players who played out of LaCrosse. Whitey of course who RandyG mentioned but also and perhaps the best ever to play out of LaCrosse was Billy Steele. He passed away too early though in the late 80's. He was a road player whose specialty was very long (20+ hours) sessions at just about any game. He won the VNEA National Championship for the Red Sails Resort by breaking and running out the last game of the final match. If Billy was on, you would be grabbing a bull by the horns taking him on. In addition to Billy and Whitey, there is/was Bart Taylor and Mike Haggerty. Two real strong players.

As previously mentioned in this thread, there have been many great players come up in WI. I hope the talent pool really hasn't dwindled as much as it appears from comments made by previous posters.
