Wide pockets on Mosconi tables...

Every time the commentators mention how the Mosconi tables are "so tight" I'm rolling my eyes -- I bet that the widest table in our poolhall is tighter than any of the Mosconi tables.

I heard that the pockets were indeed pretty tight......

I turned on yesterdays match in time to see the last couple games only. I saw Souquet pocket one shot,in the upper right hand corner, that hit the rail at about a 30 degree angle at last 6" before the pocket and it still went in. The commentator was incredulous and so was I.

That was a VERY forgiving table.... forgiving to the point of being junk, imo. No Diamond Pro in captivity would have accepted a shot anywhere near that poorly played.

But what about all of the shots that rattled out.... first one that comes to mind was Earls dogg on the pink ealry in the match against DP/RS...

or Drago's rattler on the 9 against Morris.....
