Hey everyone,

I'll be in Des Moines for business from August 11th through the 13th. At this point I am not even sure I will have time at night to play, but does anyone have any suggestions as to where to go if I do get the time?

Would love to see a nice room and get to play some...

Thanks in advance,
Steve

Big Dogs is the place, nice room ,tables, people and action if thats what your looking for.

Steve...If you get the desire to play, I'll put you in contact with Mike Athens (MikeinIowa). He's one of (if not the) top players in Des Moines, and loves to play and gamble. PM me for his phone number. BTW, his wife, Jen, plays pretty sporty too, if Gina is coming with you! You guys could have a heck of a good scotch doubles match!:D

Big Dogs

I was in Des Moines at the beginning of March. I met up with ChefJeff a poster here at AZ. We went to Big Dogs and played in the Tuesday Night tournament. The place was rockin with a full 48 man tournament plus it had a league night there as well. I really liked the place and had a blast playing there. If you get the chance I would recommend going there.

Thanks all - still not sure if I'll be able to make it, and certainly wouldn't have time for a session. Maybe a set or two.

Should know more in the coming weeks - once again, thanks very much for the heads-up on Big Dogs.

when the local players talk about the best ,we don't include don because he doesn't play anymore. BUT we all know don is the best. not only is he a great player but he treats everybody with respect. he is a class guy and I wish we would see him play more.

JMB...Of course I know about Don McCoy. Mike set the record straight...
