Will you be able to tell the difference between two cues

There are SW clones all over.
Even Kao Kao in Asia. They have advanced CNC
machines.
Yet, they don't copy SW's taper when they can .
There is a reason.
And I'm not discussing it.

You made my point it is possible to Clone a Southwest.

Do not think it is cool👀, to Counterfeit the Southwest down to the pin with Cactus, and Serial Number. But I am sure it been done before.

We on the FS forum recently had a Tad that was Counterfeit. Mike pulled listing.

Will you be able to tell the difference between two cues, if one is made by say SouthWest and the second cue made by a new cuemaker if all the wood,, weight shaft diameters are the same?
If it's all truly the same, tools used, construction, materials, glues, clear and every aspect of making the cue, including the parabolic taper and all that, I can't see how that would not result in a "southwest light" cue, but the point is all the choices that makes a Southwest isn't so easy to mimic as you would think. It certainly would cost a fair bit, as you would have to both xray and cut up a few cues to really understand every aspect of the construction. I don't have much experience with Southwest, but I would guess that even within Southwest cues there are slight differences, Southwest doesn't core their cues as far as I know, so a BEM will naturally feel different than a Gaboon ebony or Purpleheart cue.

probably .... no 2 cues are exactly he same. if you had 2 cues that were built the same .... you would likely find 1 you favor over the other
I have 2 cues from Dieckman where the only difference is the stitching in the joint and butt cap.
Some of the wood is exactly from the same source, an old broken maple propeller.

The hit feels different. Even with the same shaft.

I have a really nice Jensen with two shafts. Both are same diameter and weight with same tips. The hit is different with each. No two cues or shafts play identically.

Yup.
Happens all the time.
Btw, the melamine ferrules SW uses is nowhere to be found now.
I'd like some . Norplex won't even make them.
