Thanks but its not a willard shaper; its the cutter used to install tipsA Willard's shaper (used for shaping the tip of the tip) should never hit the clear layer of a Kamui clear tip (located between the ferrule and the leather layers of the tip)
Perhaps you can find a tool more suitable for the job you're trying to accomplish.
Hope this helps.

I was thinking or buying a Proper Cut Right or Proper Mushroom Grazer to cut away my mushroomed tip.
I’m worried about damaging my Revo shaft and vault plate.
Cool I've never seen one, disregard! Thanks but its not a willard shaper; its the cutter used to install tips
I have not had good luck with those and have seen many people nick their ferrule, even with the screw set correctly. Any slight tilt of the tool changes the blade depth and if you don't have the screw set all the way down to the edge of the ferrule, it won't cut the bottom of the tip. Not to mention they don't cut clean and you end up with small chunks out of the sides.the porper mushroom grazer has a screw for that. if you set it right it shouldn't touch the ferrule.
Not sure I can trust myself with that knife. I would probably damage the shaft or my finger.Use Kiridashi Knife. I did my last two tips with one and they look like I did them on a lathe
Wrap the ferrel and shaft with painters tape for the initial trim, get it flush with the tape remove the tape and do a final trimming. Not sure I can trust myself with that knife. I would probably damage the shaft or my finger.
I think I’ll take it to John Zaksas and let him put it on the lathe and shape it.
