Willards Tipper Trimmer/Fiber Pad?

I posted this in the cuemakers section also:

If I want to add a fiber pad and I'm using a Willards Tipper Trimmer (no lathe)
1) should I glue the pad to the tip and then glue the tip/pad combo to the ferrule or should I glue the pad to the ferrule and then glue the tip to the pad?
2) will the Willards trim the pad and tip combination or is the pad more difficult to cut using the Willards?

I use to own a Willards tipper before I bought my lathe. That's a fine tool. Probably the best tip installer next to a lathe.

I MYSELF use to glue the fiber pad on first, then glue my tip to the pad. That pad is just fiber, the Willards cutter will have no problem trimming it down. Just make sure you keep sharp blades in the trimmer.

Trial and error.
I put the fiber pad on the ferrule first and then glue the tip to that.

Yup, i used to own one also. It paid for itself quickly. I put the pad on, trimmed it almost flush, then put the tip on.
