I have a guy that has an old Willie Hoppe (green label) that he want an ivory ferrule put on. Does anyone know if these have threaded tennons or a regular tennon. Also - I noticed the ferrule that is one there has a white part, then a black part, then the tip. Is this how they were originally made? Thanks for any input guys!

Hi Sir,

my shot at ur question.

1. Seen a couple not threaded.
2. thats the fibre pad u mean? any cuemaker can install that for you.

i think most cuemaker wont trust the old tenon and would probably do up a new one..

Answer to my question

Regular non-threaded tennon - very usable. Strange design. It was a huge fiber pad that actually slips over the tennon. The ferrule is sleeved onto this. It was a really strange design. Butt ugly too in my opinion. But I am still a sucker for that full splice hit.
