That's a grail cue for me.

I have owned, and still own more expensive cues. I just never seem to be at the right place/time to pick up an ebony Hoppe Pro.

Can't tell about the points but that butt looks like AB, maybe it was replaced at one time or is a rare example.

I believe Ideologist is absolutely right.

In addition to the lack of finish, the sunlight is bringing out grain in that wood we did not see before.

Does not change that I think it is ebony. I think the sunlight is fooling some people on that.

I just this moment took ebony out in the sun, same exact label on it by the way. It looked exactly the same. And it does not look so much that way sitting here in my office.

Thanks for the offer. I have too many custom players now and will need to make some hard decisions in the near future. I doubt very seriously the ebony Hoppe will find itself on the cut list.
