Wimpy Vs. Puckett

In picture 1 with Fatty playing, his opponent is a very young Corn Bread Red. I dont recognize anyone else. In picture 2, from left to right is Weenie Beenie -- before his hair transplants -- Luther Lassiter -- Harold Worst ( I recognize his type of bald head, Fatty is probably shaking hands with Joey Speith (I recognize the falling curl on his forehead) the next guy over, I dont know, but next to him is Don the Duke Tozer from Decatur IL. Sitting on the bench is Joe Burns from Dayton OH. He ran some great tournaments in the 70's. Thats are far as I can go with the pictures. Not too shabby, eh?

My real name is Freddy Bentivegna from Chicago. I'm 64 years old and I've played from Maine to Spain and back again. I've climbed down ladders to get to pool spots. I played the part of a billionaire to take off a giant score in a "lemonade" game from the highest roller who ever lived. Every pool human knows me, how come you don't?

Hey Freddy were talking 40 years brother.........we/I have done some mind altering substances so my reality may be a little off base. Currently, clean, give me a little more history of yourself. Maybe I am inhumane.......you have me stumped. I have been out of the game for about 30 years and am re-entering now. I played with Mataya during the 60's/70's........you dont know who is in the picture I posted?

My memory,in many cases, also comes in bits and pieces because of a 20 year party stretch. Had a great time. Ruined my game. Been clean as a hounds-tooth the last 20. Mataya has stayed with me in Chicago. We just went to a White Sox game a few weeks ago. I did several tours at the Rack and Cue in Detroit, it looks like you are from MI. My first wife was from Grand Rapids. I had the North Shore Billiard Club in Chicago in the 80's. 2nd in action only to the Rack n Cue. I can't name that kid. Help me.

Well Freddy, this is getting to be fun!!!!!!!!! I'm 55 yrs. old, so you are 10yrs older than I. During the Rack and Cue days I was escorted by my Dad, and we would watch all the action- with Cornbred, Baby Face, Freddy Salem, ETC.
By the way your not Freddy Salem by any chance? I heard he past away afew years back.
I played in a National Tournament back in the 60's, playing the likes of Irving Crane and Joe Balsas-"The Butcher". Obviously a double-elimanation for me in 14-1. But, a great experience none the less!!!
I think my Dad and I also placed our orders with Rambo while we were there. We got 2 of some his last great crafted cues.
Anyway to keep the game going here-I'm not going to disclose who I am yet unless Jimmy can give you a hint or two. The next time you talk to him, ask him who that guy was who jawwed the long shot for a loss to him-14-1 Straight Pool- score being 125-118. I had him in my sights and let it get away. One of my first experiences of learning how to handle pressure and what it takes to close out a tight match. He placed 2nd in the State Finals-BCA sanctioned. I placed 3rd with the high run award.

Talk to you soon-Peace

Steady

Now that's funny. No offense, steadyneddy.

Don't know the kid in the pic either, but I'm waitin' to hear.

Love the stories from both of you, keep 'em comin'.

Is that you in the pic, Steadyneddy?

I'm sure I remember the kid in the pic, but I cant remember anything else including his name. What I do recall is the kid was a hot item but dropped off the charts rather quickly.

No, I am not Freddy Salem, and dead. I played a partner game with Black Country from NY against Salem at the Rack n Cue for $1000 a man. We beat Freddy Salem 8 games in a row. Freddy wouldn't play me even and he usually spotted Country 9 to 7, so we matched up even with Country as my partner. Country was known as a tight played and between us Salem didn't shoot at his pocket for the first 3 games. Country and Salem were bitter rivals, and Charles (Country) who hated everybody, kissed me after the match.

The Kid is Me - Ned Noon. Dropped off the charts and faded into the sunset to experience life-college-learning-girls-social protests-Timothy Leary-Drugs-Booze-marriage-children. So the circle is almost complete. Still have a desire to snap off a 9 ball , big one, somewhere. No enate hustling abilities, terrible gambler, but a respectable tournament player. Ask Jimmy he will agree.
