Winning one pocket book $1300

Tom Wirth’s One Pocket A game of controlled aggression is $69 and definitely a future collectible. It says it all. It’s a masterpiece. So.. $300 plus? Or $69. Tough choice.

While those books are fun to read and are good. They didn’t help me much. Playing better players and watching good long squeeze games I’ve learned more from. And practicing shots until I have them cold and memorized has helped me more than books in all pool games. But the books are still fun to read-but they aren’t a magic pill that will make you a ball stronger.

Fatboy <——-needs 10/6 from anyone who can play 1P

Forget the price.... Controlled Aggression gives W1P 2balls and the breaks. Not even close.
Yes indeedie. I’m a beginner …started 1p from the beginning. Tom’s book is 100% on track with situations, explanations and just about every aspect with no filler. I’m constantly learning from it. Someday it will be a valuable collectible considering it is not mass produced and the overall quality of it. Well said Tooler.. his book vs the others are not on the same page. No pun. I told Tom several times his book is underpriced. He’ll say it’s his life’s experience. His goal is to keep 1p alive. To promote the game and play it right. He’s not a huckster trying to overcharge for anything. It’s his passion and he’s passing it on. It’s more than fairly priced… or should I say less than fairly priced. I gave a few to my friends in the past as gifts. They love it. What’s not to love

I bought both books when they first came out. I think I paid around $40 each at the time. In addition to the instruction, there are a lot of stories and old photos. I wouldn’t pay the going market price (I just saw it for sale for $500). But I don’t plan on selling my copies either.

I’ve got “Shots, Moves and Strategies” signed by Jerry Red. Bought it at International Billiards in Houston in the early 90’s.

Arent there electronic copies available?
Only illegal copies for those who don't care about that sort of thing.

I think there's lots of useful stuff in both the Eddie Robin books but the price is a little hard stomach compared to other sources of info. The good news is that you can probably sell them after reading them for about the same or more than you paid.

And in case anyone is looking for a pair, I have one for sale. 💰 💰 💰 (y) I've finished my reading for now. ;) My price is way, way under $1300 for W1P.
