Winning One Pocket for Sale

jesus 225 dollar minimum? That's crazy. The publisher is stupid for not printing up a truckload and keeping them for sale online, if there's that much demand.

If there are any bids at that ridiculous price, I hope whoever gets it just scans it and posts it somewhere :/

Is this the same book that is on Amazon.com for $705.00 by Jersey Red? I hear it is the authority on One Pocket with explanations and diagrams on many shots.

i just got the second edition and paid more than that, good thing is if you ever do sell your going to be fine, unlike the rest of the books in the world

i bought them to study up for tooth, i hope they help me

It'll never sell for $705.00. Some idiot put it on Amazon hoping to get a bite.

And addressing what someone else said about the $225.00 minimum being outrageous.. That's only a little over 4 times what it went for originally. How is that so out of line?

People are paying $30.00 for Grissim's book, and I'm pretty sure it was around $5.00-$7.00 when it came out.

If yah got $200.00, I'm sure if you wait A FEW MONTHS, you'll be able to pick up a copy on Ebay. If you don't think it's worth that, then don't pay it. The person who advocated scanning the book and posting it online is just a thief. Hey moron, (that poster) the market is not being driven by the original author. It's being driven by resellers.

If someone were to scan it and post it online, there would then be NO FINANCIAL INCENTIVE for the author to republish.

Friggin thieves. GAWD, I hate 'em.

P.S. (Mocking the inevitable response..) "Oh, but I didn't say I was gonna steal it, I was just saying...........price.......outrageous........I'm poor...........everyone is poor.........blah blah yackety smackety......"

Fatboy and Scottster, thank you for being the voices of reason..

I guess other people in this world believe that all books, video, and music should be free. And an HDTV in every home!

Oh yeah, and another thing.. You poor theiving barstards out there.. In case you didn't know, people play One Pocket for upwards of $100.00 a GAME.

So just how is a book that costs $200-$300 "outrageous" when the return is so huge?

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEdiots...

Russ

I agree. Many years of playing went into writing this book. To scan it and post it online is nothing short of theft. However, I would not pay $200 for the book even though it maybe worth it for some. Maybe in will be reprinted soon. I probably would pay $75.

I learned the basics of one pocket from Kolher's book. I still like reading parts of it. Do you know of any other advanced one pocket books?

I bought an Accu-stats DVD on Efren and Parica. That was great. Paid $26 to see Efren run 8 balls and out. The only thing it learned from that DVD was don't give Efren an open shot.

Partly because many including myself have not seen the book. I might pay $200 if I could see the book beforehand. I hear it is the best on one pocket.

This is you Russ.

Don't like it, Don't buy it

I didn't just pull that number out of the air. That is a good, fair and competitive price for this book and it is extremely hard to find. I don't want to sell it at all, but a money crunch forces me to do so. Check around. If u don't like it, don't buy it.

Yeah, I hate them too! Especially when its done fraudulently. For example, rather than let the Iraqi people re-build their own country, no bid contracts are awarded to companies and in turn, they pay their employees ridiculous wages to get the job done. Sheesh. I can't believe some of these thieves over there stealing jobs from the Iraqis and getting overpaid to boot! Gawd I hate 'em

There are many pool and billiard memorabilia collectors and this has been a collector's book since it went out of print. I would be very surprised if this book went for less than 350.00 and wouldn't be surprised if it went for 450.00.

winning at one pocket

Ive got 2 of them, its pretty good,I may sell one of them if the price is right.

lol I gave russ a seizure.

I wasn't trying to queer your action kirk (I should have figured you were the seller since you're posting about it). I can sympathize with financial woes.

I just feel that it's exploitation to sell some things for a high price just because they're hard to get. It's only hard to get because someone (publisher, reseller, let's not nitpick) screwed up and failed to see the demand, not because the book is the printed equivalent of a diamond.
It's the same 50-dollar's-worth of info it was years ago, it didn't improve with age, and if anything it's less valuable because good 1P knowledge has become more widespread since then. Don't give me crap about how it'll win you money games and therefore is worth whatever you're willing to bet. By that logic, every pool book is worth tens of thousands.

I hear a lot of quacking about depriving people of their livelihood and robbing them and theft, but how much money is Eddie Robin going to get from this sale? Nothing. How much money would Eddie Robin make if kirkwood decreased (or increased) the price? Nothing. If anything, the ebayers are stealing from him as much as anyone else. How much money has Eddie Robin lost if someone scanned it and posted it online? Nothing, because I can't buy the f***ing thing anywhere. Give me the option to buy it without bending me over a barrel and I'll jump at it.
