What I was over looking was increase in strength that the thin wooded area gets from the glue.

Wrong pliers. Try Robogrip.
I'll stick to bastard .350 18tpi. Might go with 22 soon if these short ferrule requests keep coming.

Did you break that off without any glue on it? I may have missed something, just curious.

That was removing it after it was glued. I can wring it off tightening it also.

Murray - Everybody has to find their own way, but a lot of guys will use a cutting tool and just gently machine the ferrule off. It leaves the tenon more or less intact, which is handy if you're planning to re-use the shaft.
