Losers side match
World 9B champ Gorst v UK Open champ Capito. Loser is out while winner plays Biado for place in last 16 single elimination

People who complain about the camera work of Matchroom productions should be forced to watch a few hours of the Knight Shot Open. They cut to a different camera angle every 5-10 seconds so it's like watching a pool tournament through the eyes of a 12 year old with ADD and an affinity for Mt Dew. It's incredibly distracting and borderline unwatchable.

You know what would make it better? More ridiculous pictures of Jayson Shaw all over the room.
Yeah the camera work is poor and they jump all over the day's timeline between racks.
Also, if anyone wants to see how well the tables roll, check out Chua's jump-bank on the 8ball in the 7th rack of his match with Fortunski (around 4:20:00 in the YT stream).
That was as bad as the famous 8ball roll in the APA Vegas finals from a couple years ago -on a Valley.
Ooh, and they have used both the Russian and US flag for Fedor.

LIVE Semifinals
Mickey Krause v Eklent Kaci followed by Johann Chua v Filler

Final at 7pm local time (11am EST)
If Kaci wins this ranking event, it will not erase the pain of his near victory from behind at recent WPC but he will take it 😁

Champion $15,000
Runner-up $8,000
Semifinals $4,000
Quarterfinals $3,000
Last 16 $1,750

What a comedown, going from a million dollar purse to one with only 25K. Talk about a dose of reality!
It must be $25,000 added, because when you add up the prize money it comes to $57,000. Still a big drop from one million!
Yep, 64 players at $500 each is $32,000. Add $25,000 and you get the $57,000 purse.

For me it's a bad look to have players fondling the rack. In this case Filler but they all did it. We have a ref. That's his job. I'm OK with a glance and maybe one request for a rerack but that would be the absolute limit. You should have 20 seconds to break. If you want to burn half of it inspecting then that's on you. Touching the balls for me is an absolute bush league move.

I watched a few racks and then turned it off. The lethargic pace of play drained the match of any entertainment value.

A few of the Knight broadcasts cut out the wait between shots. If there isn't going to be a shot clock, that's the way to do it. But then everything would have to be tape delayed and edited.

I'm with you there. A bad look for any pool match when the players are racking the balls. That should be the referees job. That said, for many years that's the way we played. It was either "rack your own" or let your opponent rack for you. Most of our pool controversies came from what went on during the racking. We never had anough refs to rack for eight or sixteen tables in the pro tournaments.

With a template this should be a no brainer. Teach the refs what is expected. Players allowed to glance at rack and accept or ask for ONE RERACK. If you don't like that one then you should have accepted the first one. If ref consistently can't do his/her job then they will not be invited back. Ditto for any player who can't accept this. We don't need you to write a "Rack Wars" book. Though another Pool Wars would be GREAT!
