Won my very first game of 14.1 last night.

No, it wasn't a league or tournament match. It wasn't for anything other than pride. I was challenged. "You want to play me straight pool, race to 100", he asked. I took him up on it as I had never once played anyone in a match/game of straight pool. I won 100-54. I made a lot of rookie errors (missing shots trying to open up the rack, usually) so my high run was only 16. I actually did better in the department that I thought I would struggle in, and that was in setting up a decent break shot. I liked it.....a lot. Thinking of dropping out of 8-ball, 9-ball leagues and getting in a 14.1 league (yes, we have one in the area). Not trying to boast or brag as I'm still learning all the nuances of the game, but it felt good for me to meet the challenge and fare fairly well. Maniac
