Wonder if the Revo will ever come out with a 5/16x14 joint.

Would love to get one to see what all the hype is but only for my playing cue. Most likely would end up being a catch and release. Still would be nice to have a true opinion on them...

I bought a cross adaptors from Newsherffintown so I can use the Revo on a Schon.

They should. That's a popular joint style.

Not likely, as long as there's more demand than they can meet.

Better option is to get the Revo Uni Lock, then get a competent cue repairman to run a 5/16 X 14 tap through the insert to create the 5/16 X 14 thread.

All the best,
WW

Cues with 5/16x14 joint already play very good, no need to have a Revo.

Demand, plus it's a good way to sell their other LD/ultra LD 314/Z stuff, and maintain that market.

I don't know, just guessing, but the limited joint selection makes it easier and less expensive for their distributors to inventory.

As soon as other "plastic" shafts hit the market, which should be soon and will be available in many configurations including 5/16-14, Predator will have to release that joint config to stay competitive. Soooooooon.

Here is what I see with the REVO, some people buy it and sell it go back to their normal shafts. Other people buy it and keep it but don't play any better.

Had two guys with revo shafts and one had the fancy new break stick also playing at a table next to me, they were maybe running out 4 balls an inning. I wanted to tell them "It's OK, when Predator comes out with a $1,000 shaft and you buy that, you'll be able to run out then I'm sure".

If you want to try one for a bit, there is a fundraiser for junior nationals in Ayer June 12 at 5:30 (Tuesday), there should be a few players there that have one.

Someone at Predator should read this and offer a joint adaptor & make it in different lengths
which could also function as a cue extension that's become so popular. It could come in 3/8,
5/16x14, radial, etc. and would broaden the market enormously for them. If they took my advice,
they'd really be raking in the money even faster than offering the current two (2) joint offerings.
Afterwards, when they see how their sales have jumped, Predator can send me some shafts &
joint adaptors at Blue Fin Billiards in Fresno. Tommy Hill is playing with a Revo shaft and he'll
create a test/demo area for showing off the 12.4 & 12.9mm Revo shafts and the different adaptors.
All that Predator needs to do is wake up and smell the roses because the market opportunity is there.

There is a young fellow where I'm doing league with one. Don't feel comfortable to ask (I never let anyone hit with my playing cue), and would like to try it with the joint of choice I use.

I find that every Predator shaft I tried changes the hit of the cue enough that you can interchange joints easily to get a feel for how the shaft plays. How you aim with it and much of the hit feel would be from the shaft and tip.

Come by for the fundraiser, if the guys with the revo are there I'm sure they will let you play a few games with it to try one. If you are in MA and have not visited The Billiards Cafe, you should.

Frankly, with so many cue makers having metal lathes, I am surprised that nobody is making joint adapters.

I don't mean extensions, I mean adapters, machined out of aluminum or something.

Seems like an untapped market, pun intended.

I thought Mike Webb posted something about a joint adapter he made.

PS.. liked the pun :D

It was not an adapter. It was using the same uni loc insert and tapping the inner bore to fit a 5/16x14 and or 5/16x18 piloted joint. It works great, will fit both joints simultaneously.
BUT....... I won't do it to a Revo because I feel Predator would void the warranty on the Revo because of it. You can get a mid extension as short as 2 inches for the uni loc / 5/16x14 fit.

I would re-post the pictures but since the change here. I can no longer sign in with regular Google. I had to go Google chrome and for some reason. I couldn't post pictures.

I went to LD shafts about 6 months ago and they play ok. I wonder how the Revo plays, hit, squirt and all that.
