see, right away there's people taking the piss out of him. kind of sad really that the most gifted pool player ever can't post on a pool forum because of the insults. and people love to bash him. i can't imagine the whole case being the same if it was efren though.
well.....do you see efren or any other pro act that way? CMON,DO YOU SEE ANY PRO IN ANY SPORT ACTING LIKE THAT?dont come on here and say i shouldnt bash someone because the way they act.he made his bed.and if it was any other pro in any other sport i would feel the same.HE DOES NOT REPRESENT THE SPORT OF POOL IN ANY POSITIVE WAY,SORRY!Just because he is a hall of famer and has won numerous titles gives him no right to act like an utmost complete ***hole!

and i myself,if in person ever seen him do one of his antics would not be afraid to tell him what kind of an ***hole he is.

And you know another thing.......if he ever came out and apoligized in any way for his actions I would the first guy to get on his bandwagon again because i know he is one of the best shots ever.BUT its one antic after another that gets me goat.

he does represent the sport in an extremely positive way. when Earl plays well he plays pool at it's most beautiful best. that is how you 'represent' a sport. show how great the game is and show it off at it's best. And it also helps that he's a unique character - people love to watch him. noble though it is, i believe the school of thought that says nice, quiet, polite players who keep their emotions in check and act 'responsibly', sell and represent the game more is false. people want to watch interesting , unique people. and people are always drawn to a natural talent with a bit of bad behaviour. you asked about people in other sports. john mcenroe. alex higgins. mike tyson. diego maradona. zinedine zidane. andrew flintoff. george best. ronnie o'sullivan. list is endless.

and my point when i mentioned efren was that in Earl's case, people single him out and pick on him. many other players have flaws in their personalities but they are not scrutinized in the same way Earl's are.

Ya'll read my letter to the editor in the current BD? That pretty much sums up how I feel about it.

he has apologised quite a few times and has admits his mistakes sometimes. he also readily admits his worst enemy is himself.

people just dont single out earl because they need to pick on someone.HE EARNED THAT.!

Earl recently was practicing here in the local area. greensboro, and he was talking about some recent health issues that he felt may have been causing some of his recent actions. Nothing life threatening but some very painfull problems that would make anyone a little uptight and edgey. Cut the man some slack.. he has done more for the game himself, than most of the current new guns will ever accomplish combined
