Been a TS fan and collector for some time and have seen some of Tim's cues before with this skull inlay.

I really like the design because it's such a simplified skull, it's actually kinda comical. And with the crossed bones, or are they meant to be cues? Def puts a smile on my face.

This one has the big pin and ivory joint and along with that, just look at the deep honey-colored shafts (one even has some curl), you can prob imagine what a great hitter this cue is.

Fun design, plays brilliant. :cool:

Anybody have an idea on approx (or exactly lol) how many of these skull inlay cues were made?

TS Cue

I am glad to see you are enjoying that cue! From what I gathered from the story about this cue, the original owner did not want the typical skull and cross bone design in all 4 positions. Tim built this cue with the design just twice in the butt sleeve. This could very well be a 1/1 design.

Just something about those old classic cues that screams class and character. You can tell by just looking at the cue that it will play special. What a great cue!!!

I can give you a pretty good idea. This is either one of a kind, or there were very few. I'm pretty sure it was made in 1979. Tim and I toyed with some ivory inlays including stars in that year, that he hadn't done before, and he showed me a skull ivory design that was pretty much like this. He may have done a few of these, but I suspect very few. Looks like this cue has been kept very clean, or maybe refinished. Anyhow, very, very, nice.

WW, your timeline is good. The seller did have provenance on this one that it was ordered from Tim and delivered to an attorney down in KY in 1980, so that matches up nicely with what you said.

I know I've seen one other TS with this skull inlay and it's poss that I saw the same one at another time making me think I saw 2. Maybe there are just a couple or a few of these and that's it. :confused:

Whatever the case may be, I'm happy to have this one spending some time here with me. Yes, Eric, score another fun TS for Team CT. :wink: You may still be edging me out by about 100 or so, though. :grin-square:

Worth noting, the seller, Bryan Roberts, and his az liason Tim SC02GTP were both a pleasure to deal with. Bryan is old-school and as straight as an arrow. FYI, he has a lot more cues for sale from top makers, all very reasonable. :thumbup:

I wondered where that cue went. It is a very cool looking cue, Bryan showed it to me a while back. I thought it was a cool design from a great maker. Glad you are enjoying it.
