Out of curiousity, is it possible to add a wood handle to an existing cue, or is it just too cost prohibitive?

If not, it'll be turned-down to a smaller diameter.
A collet-closer type lathe would be great for this task.

See, that what I was thinking too! And then there is the disassembly/reassembly of the cue. A LOT of work to my way of thinking. Would almost be less expensive to just built another cue, eh?!

In a case like this you actually may have a choice because it depends on what kind of bolt is used at the splice, duplicating the taper is not hard and as far as PRICE, I guess I should have said it would depend on where you have it done. Most Cue makers that I know who do this kind of work charge $400.00 minimum, And you would be without your cue for at least a month. Sheldon is the first one I have heard of that mentioned a price that low.

I have been visualizing it ever since I got the cue...I think it would look amazing!! Especially with the shade of Pink Ivory already in the cue. Wish I would have thought of it when the cue was in mid-build.

I had a good idea that's what you were talking about but I didn't want to speculate. And for those who don't know about the different finishes being used out there, The makers using PPG and DuPont can be blended nicely, Skips and others using Acrylic, It doesn't blend with the two mentioned above as far as shine so a complete refinish would have to be done if the work is done by someone other than the maker.

It is definitely PINK!
That will most likely make your cue a little heavier, and possibly change the balance. Depending on weight bolts, it's *possible* the cue could be restored to original weight/balance.
Expect to pay 4-500 for something like that though.
I have many things to ponder on. And like I said, I am in no hurry currently...not in my budget, so to speak. I do like playing with a wood handled cue.
I do appreciate the input! I wasn't even sure that this was something that could be done, so it's cool to know there is additional option when considering a cue 'makeover'...Lol.
