Wood ID?

I think the wood has too much red to be purple heart, am I wrong?

I thought I had Padouk wood, seeing this wood close up and in daylight,
It appears red and not that great lavender pink we all love.

You can end up with quite a variety of what color PH actually is and how long it will stay the color that it is.
It can range from a reddish dark brown to some of the most vibrant violet purple color depending on where it grows and has been harvested from.

Somewhere in my wanderings I stumbled on the info that there are 13
species marketed as "Purple Heart"

ok, here's what i did, put the cue outside, waited for mid-afternoon light, snapped a handful of photo's and then...
wrapped, packaged and shipped the blank to Schmelke custom for finishing.
i'm very positive about this and soon i think, i'm going to have a smokin' daily player to drag around.
