wood pin?

Well ...

It won't last for one without the threads getting loose or marred. Wood pins existed before brass came along.

Really? I had a 3c cue that had aboslutely no problems for quite a while... I know people that have 20+ yr old cues with no problem.

All depends on how well they were made.

Dieckman Sayzz This About WOOD PINS

First of all, they are as stong as any joint system there is, even if it is made from metal. AND IT TRANSMITS THE FEEL OF THE HIT OF THE TIP ON THE CUEBALL SUPERBLY, unlike mteal pin joints. IT FEELS LIKE A HOUSE CUE, A ONE PIECE CUE. Cues do not break, PEOPLE BREAK CUES; the wood joint, in the hands of a skilled and concienous player will last longer than he will. Give an ANIMAL that same thing, and yes. he/she will screw it up. Not the fault of the joint but of the user.

I make the finest wooden thread jointed cue in the world. Don't believe it, then talk to those that have one, and they are few and far between....
cheers,
