Woods...............

What if we stock it all up like we did Ivory thinking it was money in the bank and then laws make it hard to use?
Gibson thought stocking up Brazilian Rosewood was money in the bank. That cost them tens of thousands of dollars trying to prove the wood was imported legally.

I hear ya talkin. However, I never believed ivory was a "stock it" up item. In the 20 plus yrs I've installed it on a hand full of my cues and usually at the request of the customer that I tried to talk out of it before caving. Most of it went on restorations that were an attempt to remain original.
The BRW thing....shame on them. Greed is what screwed that deal up. Had they not went in and ravaged the forests and made under the table deals with the Brazilian gov the tree huggers probably would have left them alone and not screwed it up for the rest of the world.
jmo.....

The laws in our country are going greener and greener to the point of insanity. So I have no confidence that other things like exotic woods, exotic leather and such won't eventually be treated like Ivory has been or worse.

Just make sure you stay out of politics if you're a big company.

That or you can maybe grandfather the new laws.
