The World 14.1 will happen 100%.
More than likely the event will have to move to Aug as Hilton has had management changes and miscommunication on dates.

DP will finalize hopefully next week.

Mr. Williams: Thanks for all that you have done and are doing for 14.1. Hopefully, qaulifiers will be announced soon, too.

I hope it doesn't land on events for which top players already have commitments. August looks pretty full on the WPA calendar:

Aug 5-16 EPBF Jubilee, All disciplines, all categories
Aug 13-14 Challenge of Champions
Aug 19-24 World Cup of Pool (possible date)
Aug 27-31 APBU Championship

In particular, I hope that some Asian players have a chance to compete this year.
 
See if you can coerce Sigel to play again. He played a couple of years ago and looked good the day I was there and then the bottom fell out. It would be nice to see him compete again.
 
it is tentatively set for Aug 24- 30.
Matchroom event dates will probably change.

Not all asian players participate in APBU event. we will have asian players as we did the past two years

2008 Predator World Straight Pool Championship to be held Aug 24-30 at the Hilton East Brunswick,NJ

Dragon Promotions, in conjunction with the generous support of straight pool enthusiast, Dr.Michael Fedak of NYC, will produce this prestigious event bringing players from around the globe to once again convene in the US to play for the coveted title of World Straight Pool Champion.

How about the rest of them? They usually have some in NY, Chicago, California, and a few in Europe. Anybody know when the rest might be announced?

i hope this helps. I was hoping to experience this but my nephew will be in town with the family for the first time north of texas. so this will be only a possiblitity to view on sunday for me. :(
