World-Class Customer Service Experience with Schmelke

Today, I put in my very first order with the folks at Schmelke. I was literally blown-away by how attentive, careful, and super-friendly these folks were with me and the details of my order.

Last week I had spoken to Dave, over the phone about specs-options offered by Schmelke and limits of what they are set-up to do, and not do, in general; and today, I decided to pull the trigger and make my first order with them.

When I called in, I got Julie Norman, who is about the most delightful and detail-oriented person I have spoken to in a long time. Julie made me feel like I was Efren or Earl calling, as Julie could not have been anymore attentive.

Julie went over my specs and info with me three times - THREE TIMES - just to be absolutely sure everything was exactly what I wanted. In addition to the specifics of taper and turn-down, etc., even little things I requested like changing the style of the rubber bumper and deleting their logo, were all meet with a cheery: "We'd be happy to do that for you.", or, "Why sure, that's no problem at all."

The other thing I really appreciated was how Julie made absolutely sure I was clear on what the minimum turn-around time on my order would be - how wonderful and rare in today's world.

I have no idea what it must be like to be an internationally known world-champion contacting a manufacturer for one-off spec-work; but, I have to let everyone know, that the folks at Schmelke made me feel like a world-champion with their outstanding customer service, professionalism, and friendliness. - GJ

For instance? Can they make a cue with a butt size of 1.30 inches? Can they inlay MOP slotted diamonds?

7Stud - I wouldn't have any idea about your 1.30" butt size question; as we exclusively talked about the dimensional and property specs which I desire for myself in trying to achieve specific cue performance results with their product; and absolutely nothing to do with aesthetics. Sorry I can't be of help to you with your question. - GJ

We need pictures of the cue when you get it please.

I have had a similar experience. I had a brain-fail and accidentally submitted a spec that made no sense when ordering a break cue. They phoned me to see if I that's what I really intended, and we got it fixed. It would have been easy to make the cue I ordered and make the problem mine, but they didn't. They reality checked the order and got me the cue I wanted even though I'm apparently not clever enough to order it!

I bought a sneaky in '16. Bought an extra shaft a month or so later. Both warped(not bad but still there) in a year. I contacted them and since i was beyond 12mos(maybe 14-15mos) on both shafts they said i was stuck with them. Was not a happy camper. Both shafts were always kept in a good case. Not sure if i ever do biz with them again.

Sorry to hear....Like a restaurant....as good as their last meal. However use a Revo with the Schmelks or something that matches up.

sold it long ago. it still played ok but i was pissed to the point of no return. no way one shaft much less both should warp that quick. shitty wood or improper aging. or both.

Done is done. Mine are perfect. Still cased. Never used.

Bought them for fun … stayed on the rack for while. Eventually put everything in cases a began a closet queen collection. The butts are well made. I tried a Revo on one and it’s a pretty good player.

Butt a pretty Butt with Veneers, Inlays, and Fancy Ring Work is not like a $159.00 McDermott price point Merry Widow.

But you right about shaft holder.

So… sorry yours did not work out. It should have. I think Schmelke has shaft upgrades…but that should not be necessary.
