Kozoom is now advertising live coverage for the entire week, but no details, yet, that I can find.

Tomorrow (Wed.) is the third of four qualification rounds. Hugo Patino is scheduled to play at about 5 AM PST, and the only woman in the field, Therese Klompenhouwer of the Netherlands, is scheduled at about 7 AM. (They only show one table, so it might be that neither of these matches will be shown.)

The qualification rounds are complete and the main tournament starts tomorrow morning at about 3 AM PST. The complete draw is available at http://www.umb.org/ausschreibung/upload/results/241/L. MT 1_16.pdf

By the luck of the draw, the number one seed Jaspers plays the top qualifier in the first round at 3 AM: Tayfun Tasdemir led all qualifiers averaging 2.125. The other top seeds and their opponents: Caudron plays Salazar of Colombia at 5:45 AM PST; Sanchez plays Costa of Portugal at 8:15 AM; and Blomdahl plays Cenet of Turkey at 10:45 AM.

Live streaming coverage will be at http://www.billiardworldcup.com/alcala2008/

I see Christian (.895) playing Mas (.965). While I am sure either would whip me, gotta say it would be close.

Forthomme, Blomdahl, Sanchez on the other tables, can we get one of them on here?:)

The semi-finals and final will take place tomorrow (Sun.). Jaspers plays Horn at about 12:45 AM PST. At 3:15 Blomdahl plays Sanchez. The final is scheduled for 8:30 AM.

Jasper appears to have won again taking three out of four sets and averaging over 2.8 for his final match gainst Torbjorn.

Jaspers played fantastic billiards in 2008

he has been phenomenal this year.I really wonder his annual average for 2008.If I am not mistaken,he is a 1.9 player.İt is possible that he exceeded even that figure and became the first 2.OO average player in the history of the sport. But if he is still a 1.9 player at the end of 2008, I will be very dissappointed.

Yes, Jaspers has had a phenomenal year in 2008 winning four out of the last five World Cup tournaments. But he also had some mediocre results (for him) in ranking tournaments, e.g. 14th at St. Wendel, 17th at Sluiskil, and 12th at Hurghada. In the nine ranking tournaments in which he played during 2008 his grand average is 1.790. His best general average for one of these tournaments was 1.992 in Porto.

thanks for the figures,I did not know them. Then it seems that he has not reached yet to the 2.00 barrier. If players like Blomdahl or especially Jaspers, when we consider his current form, cannot reach 2.00 or above annually, then I really wonder what kind of talent 3c awaits for such a feat.Maybe the sport awaits a new Blomdahl.
