Great break by Alcano, sinking the 6. with an easy shot on the 1

Orcullo comes up with a nice cut shot, and alcano ponders the table....orculo shows him what to do, it seems, and alcano complies and sinks the 3. Alcano seems tentative while Orcullo is taking the lead...

oh well, whatever works...alcano sinks the 9 and the pinoys are back in the lead 6-5
 
Orcullo breaks....nice, controlled break that sinks a ball with a shot at the 1....

alcano almosts misses the 1! but it kissed the 8 and sinks anyway (was it intentional?)

anyway, open table now and both seem more relaxed....sinking balls left and right...

"they've obviously found a gear" says the commentator, and the crowd cheers as dennis sinks the 9

score is now 7-5

On the hill now....

Alcano breaks hard, sinks a ball, but there is no obvious shot. Alcano and Orcullo huddle, and Orcullo pushes out.

Thais peruse the table...and hands the table back to the pinoys.

orcullo thins the 1 for a safe....and almost scratches! cueball is in the jaw of the corner pocket and the thai comes up with a great thin shot that sinks the 1 in the side pocket.

....and they break for a commercial! wtf??!

thais are back at the table, safety shot at the 2 that was huddled together with the 8. dennis can see the 2 though, and comes up with his own safety....but he banks it instead! using the bridge now for the 3 ball, successfully getting good position on the 4...alcano hits the 5 hard to get dennis good position on the 6 which is frozen on the long rail but its still long....but dennis nails it anyway!

last two balls go down easily as Dennis sinks the 9.

Pinoys over thais, 8-5!

What a nerve-wracking match!
 
During the interview, Alcano said that towards the end he just sat down every time it was Dennis' turn to shoot since it seems the he (alcano) was distracting him....

Dennis replied that they really sat together during the break and discussed that they needed to win the next few racks if they wanted to avoid being mobbed by the crowd later and beaten to a pulp....;)
